The Queensland Government initiated an independent review of the Queensland Building and Construction Commission's (QBCC) governance arrangements, decision-making, and complaints management. The review aimed to obtain recommendations to enhance QBCC's internal processes, including decision-making and complaints handling, and establish best-practice governance arrangements to facilitate QBCC's transition to an insights-driven regulator. The QUT Faculty of Business and Law collaborated with Mindhive to compile the top outcomes and insights of 100 participants, including staff and stakeholders, which highlighted the significance of the building and construction industry for the Queensland economy and the need for a robust regulatory framework to encourage investment and foster public confidence. Moreover, the platform's engagement and activity surpassed the industry standard by over 30%.

Outcome > The report recommended by the Queensland Premier has been fully funded and implemented, with all recommendations being endorsed. As a result, stakeholders have developed 20 actionable insights to present to the QBCC for review. Mindhive provides a platform for all levels of management within an organization to collaborate and develop solutions and processes for efficient work completion.

The Rockhampton Community Based Crime Action Committee (CBCAC) utilised the Mindhive platform to start an online discussion on the ‘Uniting Effort’ project. The Uniting Effort project aims to scope, define and propose approaches to bring all local organisations involved in addressing the complex issues underlying the emergence of youth crime. The Uniting Effort Project discussion explored twelve questions over three weeks. Throughout this time media release, social media, Zoom tanks, Launches and EDMs were used to engage the public and draw new participants into the discussion.

Outcome > In a joint effort, all youth agencies in Rockhampton have agreed on the following recommendations to improve the education and opportunities for young people: Education cannot be a one-size-fits-all solution for every young person. Instead, it should focus on equipping them with the necessary skills for life, learning, and work. To ensure effective and collaborative distribution of funds, an independent agency with strong community relationships should be established. Furthermore, local communities should have the power to decide how funding is allocated in programs that benefit young people. Encouraging and supporting collaborative efforts among communities towards common goals and problem-solving would also be beneficial.

To assist in implementing these changes, Mindhive offers a collaborative platform that enables users to work together on designing and delivering change activities, with all collaboration compiled into an easily accessible report for stakeholder engagement.

The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries partnered with BDO Mindhive to gather valuable feedback from various stakeholders. This included representatives from government, industry, entrepreneurs, corporations, capital, and research organizations. The goal was to find ways to collaborate and enhance Queensland's reputation as a global leader in AgTech. Stakeholder input was collected through various channels, such as in-person and telephone interviews conducted by an independent reviewer, online forums hosted by Mindhive, written submissions via a dedicated email account and DAF website, and qualitative and quantitative surveys hosted by DAF.

The project was categorised into four discussion topics. First, participants shared their comprehension of Agtech to gauge the industry's current knowledge. Second, they discussed the challenges Agtech presented to stakeholders and the larger community. The third topic focused on identifying the barriers to Agtech, which would help establish a strategy around it. Lastly, the participants identified opportunities for the Agtech industry and the opportunities that Australia could leverage.

The outcome > Our team played a crucial role in advancing the Agtech industry by engaging with diverse interest groups and stakeholders to gather vital insights. With this knowledge, we developed effective strategies to drive significant change. We incorporated crowdsourcing activities into our implementation plan to create a comprehensive report. BDO Brisbane collaborated with Mindhive to address challenges encountered by not-for-profit organisations.

To provide more insights to the NFP community and help entity leaders better comprehend the challenges they face, BDO collaborated with PMI Queensland Chapter and Mindhive. They organized virtual roundtable discussions for PMDoS participants and Mindhive NFP sector community users, utilizing the Mindhive ideation digital platform.

Our team had a goal to develop a deeper comprehension of the NFP sector and identify any challenges that leaders may encounter. To accomplish this, we posed four questions to the NFP audience. BDO's consulting team and Mindhive analysed the responses, and the top outcomes and insights for each question were compiled. These findings were presented and discussed on the platform to determine how we can provide the best assistance to service providers in overcoming these obstacles.

Outcome: Mindhive offers a platform for NFPs to express their concerns and contribute to finding effective solutions. Through in-depth analysis, we identify business challenges that hinder productivity and design viable solutions to improve organisational change. Our digital tools aid users in identifying key insights and implementing solutions to enhance productivity.

The Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman (ASBFEO) utilised Mindhive to start a nationwide online discussion focusing on identifying the needs of small businesses following the end of Jobkeeper in 2021.

Mindhive has developed a platform that allows many people to participate in discussions while keeping their identities hidden behind an incognito profile. This element encourages participants to express their genuine thoughts and opinions. In addition, the national discussion campaign employed social media marketing and paid media to engage the public and attract new participants. The campaign also included an EDM initiative that specifically targeted the most active and highly engaged Mindhive members, encouraging them to join the discussion and share ideas that are relatable to a broader audience. The EDM campaign proved effective in drawing an even larger crowd into the discussion.

Outcome > We gathered small business leaders from across the country during a crisis to offer valuable advice to the ombudsman, which in turn could influence the Prime Minister's decisions. We ensured a diverse group of participants to widen the scope of research and provide multiple solutions to the problem. The insights we gained were influential and used for policy-making purposes.

Mindhive's transformative capabilities lie in its ability to connect diverse voices, enable collaborative discussions, and drive meaningful change. By leveraging the power of collective intelligence, organizations and government bodies can tap into the wisdom of the crowd and uncover innovative solutions to complex challenges.
