Engaging with Complex Issues
The Queensland Department of Justice and Attorney-General (DJAG) sought input from MindHive’s community of experts regarding the re-implementation of the Sentencing Advisory Council.
DJAG used MindHive to develop a “Topic” rather than a “Challenge”.
This less structured format allowed DJAG to begin a conversation with the MindHive community without necessarily setting out a defined objective or outcome.
This process saw altruistic input from varied sources including legal professionals, consultants, academics from around the country, various Qld Govt Departments as well as people willing to tell a personal story and provide valuable lived experience.
I was amazed at the response!
There was such a cross-section of people who had thoughts about the question I posed, and some really rich and interesting ideas that I could use to seek the views of particular sub-groups in the community.
Thank you MindHive for a great way to get me started on the journey of consulting with the community.
