Western Australia Department of Mines and Petroleum (WADMP)
Regulating Corporate Social Responsibility
Corporations are becoming increasingly aware of the social and environmental responsibilities they have.
But what is the role of the government in regulating this area?
WADMP wanted to start a conversation around this, by exploring the issue within their own context as the regulator of the Mining and Resources sector in Western Australia.
WADMP sought to attract a broad range of stakeholders to participate in a discussion via the Topic function.
This allowed for a ‘light-touch’ administratively and for WADMP garner a diversity of views, opinions and information of others’ experiences. Without working towards any particular outcome, WADMP were about to use the topic function to have an open, public discussion of the challenges in an easy to use and accessible format.
